Can People Handle the Whole Truth?

Can People Handle the Whole Truth?

My answer to that is no. I don’t believe people can take it, on a psychological basis. How would you feel to find out that God really does exist and as an atheist you would be wrong? How would you handle the truth about finding out that you were wrong about following a faith that has been passed down to you for generations was in fact, wrong? How would live, knowing that entire being and belief in the way you have lived is wrong?

No, people can’t handle it. To grow up believing and being convinced of something. Spending your entire lives defending it, just to find out that you are were wrong; that would require a very open minded and strong person. It is said that the truth will set you free. In most cases I would agree with that. In those cases however the truth that is being referred to is the a person just being honest with themselves. This does not include the unadulterated truth of everything in existence.

What if science come out with the entire truth, that God does exist and all they have done up to this point was figure out how God manipulated the world around us to get us what we have today? I am a firm believer that scientist have been trying to prove that God doesn’t exist for over 100 years. I argue they only figured out how he did it, not that he doesn’t exist.

What if I a parent was to find out that the child he thought was his for 50, turns out to be somebody else’s? Or that voting a particular political party was absolutely wrong? Would one except it and feel like the fool or justify their decision with something else to avoid that feeling? It takes a very strong person to admit that they are fools and their self esteem will not allow this. So, I would say, most all of the people in this world would deny the truth to protect their self esteem.
How do you know, you are not that person now? How do you know you are right on what you believe? The strong wise man will always search out the truth in most everything they believe and will accept is as it comes. When Jesus was hanging on the cross and the Pharisees told him to take himself off of the cross if he was truly the son of God. That would not of mattered; even if Jesus did take himself off of that cross, the Pharisees would not of accepted it as proof, just like they didn’t accept the raising of Lazarus and other numerous miracles as proof.

No, people can’t handle the truth. If you found out that by eating the foods you do, costs the lives of poor people in another country, how would you feel? If you found out that for years, you swimming in your swimming pool killed young children in China because of the vibrations of the water through the earth. How would you feel? I am not suggesting that is true by any means, it is just an example. But I am suggesting that if the truth revealed so much guilt within you, that you would either take your own life to escape it, pray constantly for forgiveness the rest of your life or go crazy dealing with it.

Have you ever had somebody say "To tell you the truth" and then finish their sentence. If you do this or know somebody who does this all of the time. Try to refrain from it and change the wording. When you hear this, that means that the person saying it lies on a regular basis. They are just announcing that this time, it is not a lie. And sometimes even after saying this, they are lying. I had somebody say this once and I interrupted them and said "Please, tell me the truth kind sir, because normally I like being lied to like a cheap prom date." It was funny for both of us, but at the same time, it sent a message.

I don't doubt people want the truth for the most part and don't like being lied too. This does not mean that they can handle all truth in life around them.
This is just my take on it and I am just sharing a thought.
